Our Founder and Board Chairwoman made history as the first Black woman to win the title of Mrs. Universe. She will spend her reigning year bringing focus to Dress for Success, in particular the Greater London and Chattanooga affiliates, where she is Founder and Board Chair.
Juanita is also a wife, mother of two, and is the Founder and CEO of Purpose Productions Inc., a 501(c)3 women-led production company with a mission of creating content that celebrates authentic BIPOC narratives while empowering women and youth through film worldwide. She is the creator and Executive Producer of the unscripted show The Expats International Ingrams, currently streaming on Amazon Prime & Roku. She is a voting member of the Television Academy and a 9x Telly Award Winner, Webby Award Honoree, and a 5x Best Actress winner from the Actor's Awards LA and other global film festivals.
Juanita is also an award-winning Indie TV and Film producer, director, and actress. She is a voting member of the Television Academy and a frequent judge for various categories of The Emmys(R). While living for almost 5 years in the UK, she auditioned and signed with an acting agency in London. Juanita made her feature film debut as one of the lead actresses in the film “Residential,” which debuted in 2016 at the British Urban Film Festival (BUFF). She subsequently received the Best Actress nomination at the 2017 BUFF Awards, a BAFTA qualifying film festival.
Brown Ingram is no stranger to competition or winning. The Singapore-based attorney, author, actress, and award-winning TV producer was the first African-American woman to compete in and win Mrs. Indiana in 2007. She later became the first African-American Ms. World International in 2012. The other titles on her shelf include Mrs. UK Universe 2013, Mrs. Great Britain World 2011, and Mrs. UK International 2014.
