CLIENTS

If you've been referred to Dress for Success Greater London, you will find useful information here ahead of your appointment.

Be sure to check directions and plan your route before your appointment as some people find it difficult to locate us.

Once your appointment is booked

  • Your appointment will be booked by your referring organisation - usually this will be your work coach, case worker or the member of staff that spoke to you about being referred. Sometimes they don't check if a time is good for you, so call us if you can't make the time they book and we'll rearrange.

  • You will receive a text message to confirm the day and time of your appointment, in addition to our address. If you do not receive this text message, please call us on 0203 773 7279.

  • We will send you a reminder text the day before your appointment in case you've forgot.

  • If you can't make it to your appointment or don't think that you need to see us any more, that is fine. We ask that you please call us as soon as you can so that we can cancel your slot and offer it to someone else.

  • We always let the referring organisation know whether you attended your appointment or not.

Preparing for your appointment

  • You should plan your journey in advance, and leave extra time so that you're not running late - it's great to treat this as a practice run for your job interview.

  • If you do still end up running late, don't worry. If you are able to, please call us so we know or try to turn up as soon as possible. Most of the time we can still see you.

  • Make sure that if you have a phone, it's fully charged before you leave so that you can call us if you get lost.

  • Note down our address and number on some paper if you don't think your phone will last that long.

  • If you have it available, a printed out copy of your CV and details of the job that you're being interviewed for are both useful to bring along.

  • Wear comfortable clothing that you're able to change out of easily.

At your appointment

  • Once you arrive you'll be welcomed into our boutique by one of our volunteer stylists or interview coaches.

  • We'll do everything we can to make sure that you're comfortable and at ease including refreshments and a sit down.

  • Don't sweat it - it doesn't matter to us where you come from, your background or your history; we don't judge. We are here to help you succeed.

  • Depending on your circumstances, your appointment may vary slightly.

  • If you've got a job interview coming up:

    • For the first part of your appointment, our stylists will work with you to pick out some outfits that suit you, fit you and match your style and personality, so that you can wear these to your interview feeling fantastic.

    • After this, one of our interview coaches will sit down to do some interview training with you, making sure that you're ready to face the real thing. You'll leave with some tips and techniques to take away and great answers fresh in your mind.

  • If you're starting work, a placement or similar:

    • Your entire appointment will consist of our stylists working to pick out a capsule wardrobe of outfits that suit you, fit you and match your style and personality, so that you can wear these to your new job.

  • At the end of the appointment, you'll be asked for feedback on the session and any comments.

  • Anything you receive during the appointment is yours to keep.

  • We'll be in touch not long after your job interview so we can find out how your interview went and if we can support you further.
